With Are You Sitting Comfortably?, the British prog rock band Iq took a more commercial path in 1989. The album, the second and last for the Phonogram label, marks an important moment in the band's history. It is the swan song of singer Paul Menel, who can be heard here for the last time. Despite the more accessible sound, this album contains some of the strongest songs that the band recorded with this line-up. The album skilfully balances between progressive roots and a more radio-friendly approach. A fascinating chapter in Iq's extensive discography.
